Pancakes

Pancakes

Crepes                                    

(makes 15)

Ingredients

  • 8oz Plain Flour

  • 4 Eggs

  • 400mls milk

  • 150mls water

  • 4tbsp Butter (melted)

  • 2 pinches Salt

  • Strawberries

  • Raspberries

  • Bananas

  • Nutella

  • Cream

  • Rum Caramel Sauce

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, making sure to do it raised above the bowl as it adds more air into your flour

  2. Create a well in the middle of your flour and crack in your four eggs. With an electric hand mixer whisk your eggs and slowly combine with your flour.

  3. As you start to combine the flour and eggs slowly add in the milk and water bit by bit one bit until you have a very loose smooth batter

  4. Stir in your melted butter, dont worry if the butter started to solidify again.

  5. On a 23cm non stick pan over a medium to high heat, pour about half a laddle full of batter on your pan and immediately turn and twist the pan so the batter spreads to all the edges and is nice and thin,

  6. Leave a few minutes to brown then flip and let brown on the other side, enjoy hot or cold with your chosen fillings.

 

 

American Style Buttermilk Pancakes                                

 (makes 15, 5 Plain, 5 Blueberries, 5 Oreo)

Ingredients

  • 10oz Flour

  • 2 1/2tsp Baking Powder

  • 8tbsp Caster Sugar

  • 4 Eggs

  • 400mls Buttermilk

  • 8tbsp Butter (melted)

  • Blueberries

  • Oreos

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and sugar, whisking together until they’re combined.

  2. Next add in the eggs yolks, buttermilk, and melted butter, then with an electric mixer, whisk until the batter comes together.

  3. Whisk the egg whites until light and fluffy, then slowly fold the whites into the batter being careful not to knock the air out of the whites.

  4. Heat a non stick frying pan over a medium heat. Then pour 2-3tbsp of the batter onto the pan in a circular pattern.

  5. Allow each pancake to sit until bubbles form on the top and the bottom side has browned, then flip over and brown the other side.

  6. To make the Blueberry Pancakes drop in a few while the first side browning.

  7. To make the Oreo Pancakes, fold in 3-4 crushed Oreos and 2tsp of cocoa powder into the last third of the batter.
